Travelling to learn. It may sound like a cliché, but for us it has always been reality.
As a family—with two grown children—we explored the world, immersing ourselves in culture and nature, from tropical beaches to vibrant cities.
We stayed in the most diverse accommodations: from simple wooden huts in Goa and charming fishermen’s cottages along the Brazilian coast to luxurious boutique hotels in the Caribbean, where Hollywood stars also escape.
Along the way, we discovered what makes a stay truly special and a journey unforgettable.
With a backpack full of experiences, inspiration, and enthusiasm, we decided to make our dream come true: opening our own small hotel.
Our search brought us to Portugal, to the beautiful Silver Coast. In August 2014, we traded our beloved hometown Ghent for the country where we once spent our honeymoon.
In Serra do Bouro, we found our new home: a centuries-old quinta with an authentic mill, nestled in a rural coastal village overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Nearby you’ll find the beaches of Foz do Arelho, São Martinho do Porto, Nazaré, Peniche, and Baleal—each a gem on Portugal’s Silver Coast.
